Parish Ministry

When the Society of Jesus arrived in Belize in 1851, the first thing they did was to set up parishes throughout the country to minister to Catholics of all ethnicities, many of whom were refugees from the Caste Wars in Mexico.  Our parishes remain vibrant faith communities, centered on the Eucharist, and reaching out to the surrounding areas.  Our parishes are known for a strong sense of welcome and inclusion, good preaching, and caring for the spiritual and temporal needs of the people of God.
